About Economy-x-Talk

The person behind Economy-x-Talk is drs. Mark Schonewille. As a student, he participated in a research group writing a book about Dutch active labour market policies. At the same time he was an assistant-lecturer at the Faculty of Management and Organization of the University of Groningen. Also during his studies at the General Economics department of the same university, he worked as a junior researcher for the European Low Wage Employment Research (LoWER) Network, for which he assisted in writing several papers and other publications, which mainly considered the subject of exclusion in society. He was also involved in a research project about youth employment in the Netherlands, which is comparable to the project "Benchmarking employment policies...". The result of this project is a report published by the French Ministry of Employment and Solidarity. Currently, a few more articles about similar subjects are being prepared for publication. The subject of his PhD-project ³Institutions, human capital and labour productivity² is closely related to his specialization in institutional economics and also concerns company-provided education and on-the-job training.

Currently, Mark Schonewille is a guest researcher at the University of Nijmegen and preparing his dissertation. He is well-known as a long-time xTalk programmer. As a leader of the European HyperCard User Group and as Apple User Group Ambassador, he organized eHUG's participation in the Apple Expo Paris in 2002 and 2003.
